The plan so far

Two milestones:

- we decided to rent bikes and ride along the Loire river (somewhere)

- we bought our plane tickets!

One More Day!

Spending Thanksgiving week at Topsail means a week with very few goals. Procure turkey, cook turkey, conquer and then divide turkey. Do a little running and walking on the beach. But most of our days involve doing whatever we feel like doing at the time. What a gift!

Today is Saturday, our last day for doing whatever we want. One more day before holiday madness, work/travel, budgets, tax planning, lots of cold and dark. Today is bright, warm, beautiful and empty.

Planning Is Pre-Travel Fun

It's official -- I'm taking off for the month of May 2015 for a longish trip to France. Since Keith took early retirement from EMC, he'll be free to travel at least through June. It's our time to take off!

As of Thanksgiving, we're starting to plan our trip. We're kind of thinking:

• a week in French language school
• a week in Provence, hopefully Cadenet
• a bike tour
• a few trips to places that we've never been before, maybe to the Dordogne region?
• more time in Paris?

These are just some of our initial ideas. I'll be blogging about the planning and preparation process here. Fascinating, huh?
